Job description

Our client Scottish Power Renewables is seeking a Senior WTG Engineer for an urgent role initially until 31/12/2025.

Main Purpose of the Job

The Senior Wind Turbine Engineer is a key role within the Offshore Renewables Business, focusing on delivering large-scale offshore wind projects in the UK, Europe, and overseas.

Belonging to the East Anglia 2 (EA2) WTG Package and reporting to the WTG Technical Manager (Lead WTG Engineer), the candidate will be responsible for implementing robust and cost-effective engineering strategies, managing offshore supply, coordinating design interfaces, and ensuring compliance with standards and safety practices. The role also involves providing technical support on commercial topics and managing engineering activities across the offshore business.

The position may require frequent travel within the UK and overseas. The candidate should be UK-based, with the ability to attend the London or Glasgow office weekly as needed.

Accountability Statement

The Senior Wind Turbine Engineer will provide engineering advice, assessments, and recommendations to ensure project delivery within time, budget, and quality standards, while adhering to health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities include evaluating technical and commercial risks, documenting assessments, managing certification processes, supporting commissioning, staying updated on technical developments, and implementing offshore standards and lessons learned.

Dimensions

The EA2 Project is in the execution phase, involving complex engineering coordination with budgets potentially reaching billions of pounds. The role requires excellent technical, risk management, and design management skills, supporting risk management, opportunities, budgeting, and planning within multidisciplinary teams across Europe and the Americas.
