Job summary

CD Auto Engineering Recruitment Ltd in East London is seeking a Workshop Manager to lead a busy heavy vehicle workshop. Circa £70k basic salary with a lucrative £80k OTE, permanent, full-time role working alongside the Engineering Manager to drive day-to-day operations.

You will manage a team of technicians and apprentices, oversee workloads, ensure DVSA compliance and maintain high safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of DVSA maintenance standards.
• Experience with heavy vehicles preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the day-to-day management of a busy engineering operation
• Leading, motivating and developing workshop employees
• Managing workshop workloads, productivity and vehicle availability
• Ensuring maintenance and repair standards remain consistently high
• Maintaining DVSA and wider regulatory compliance
• Monitoring Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental standards
• Providing technical leadership and support to engineering teams
• Managing workshop premises, equipment and engineering resources
• Supporting employee performance, training and development
• Working closely with the Engineering Manager to improve operational performance
