Job description

  • Supporting service users from point of entry into the service on their dependency and recovery journey, via our CGL Directory of Services.
  • Providing screening, assessment, psychosocial interventions, recovery planning, and onward referral.
  • Reducing dependency & recovery-related harm to service users and the wider community within the parameters of the National Probation Service referral.
  • Promoting carer, service user, and community involvement.
  • Onward referral for ongoing support from partnership services.
  • Working with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support, and self-determination.
  • Supporting recruitment and development of D & R Motivators.

About you:

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience working within criminal justice, substance misuse (including alcohol), or social care services with a clear understanding of the need for and ability to deliver quality services.
  • A commitment to multi-agency working and establishing partnerships with other professions to achieve good outcomes for the service user group, including mental health services, criminal justice agencies, community groups, etc.
  • Extensive knowledge of issues facing offenders, including (but not limited to) substance misuse, health, and personal wellbeing.
  • Extensive knowledge of the rehabilitation process and the contributing factors to success, including making long-term sustained changes in offending behavior and social functioning.
  • Experience delivering groups or pods and managing group dynamics, such as conflict or challenging behavior.
  • Experience working in an outcome-focused environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and a high level of personal IT competency.
  • Ability to accurately update and maintain records in a timely fashion and work to deadlines for information submission.
  • Ability to travel as required, including in areas where public transport is unavailable.
  • Provide leadership in your area of responsibility.
  • Ability to manage change effectively, prioritizing the needs of service users.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to engage successfully with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others, both internally and externally.
