Overview

Senior Worker - Harm Reduction & Complex Needs

We have an exciting opportunity for a Community Pharmacy In-Reach and Chem-Sex In-Reach (PICSI) Senior Worker.

As a Senior Worker, you will be an integral part of the RISE multi-disciplinary team, delivering high-quality support to individuals with complex needs. You'll work closely with service users who engage in problematic drug use, including intravenous drug use and chem-sex, providing both harm reduction interventions and recovery-focused support.

Location: Ealing
Full Time Salary Range: £32,002.35 to £34,214.21 (pro rata for part time)
Inner London weighting: £4,133.14 (pro rata)
Full time Hours: 37.5 per week.

Contract: Fixed-term until 31st March 2027, with a strong possibility of extension.

*Please note: full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

Responsibilities

This new exciting role is all about creating pathways to care that are accessible, inclusive, and focused on reducing health risks. You'll be working in partnership with local services to improve health outcomes, prevent overdoses, and support individuals in managing their substance use safely.
What You'll Do:

  • Provide expert advice and guidance to individuals engaging in intravenous drug use, club drug use, or chem-sex.
  • Develop tailored care plans that support harm reduction, recovery, and access to treatment.
  • Offer non-judgmental, trauma-informed interventions in a safe and supportive environment.
  • Work collaboratively with pharmacies, healthcare providers, and community organisations to improve care pathways.
  • Deliver training and guidance to colleagues, ensuring best practices in substance misuse support.
  • Engage with marginalised communities, equipping individuals with the knowledge, resources, and tools to reduce harm and improve well-being.
  • Be flexible, as some work may take place during evenings and weekends to meet the needs of the community.

About You:

We're looking for a compassionate and skilled professional who:

  • Has experience working with complex substance use needs in a harm reduction or recovery-focused setting.
  • Understands the needs of individuals engaging in intravenous drug use, chem-sex, or club drug use, and can provide tailored support.
  • Is passionate about empowering people to make informed choices about their health and well-being.
  • Has knowledge of Blood Borne Viruses (BBVs), STIs, and overdose prevention strategies.
  • Is confident in developing partnerships to improve service accessibility and engagement.
  • Can provide training and guidance to colleagues, sharing knowledge around harm reduction and interventions.
  • Is flexible and open to working evenings and weekends when needed.

CGL points 28 to 30 (£32,002.35 - £34,214.20)
