Purpose
GAM are seeking a strong candidate to take a leading role in the Corporate Systems IT team. This team is responsible for all aspects of change to Workday and supporting HR and Finance systems including the medium to long-term platform strategy.
The successful candidate will take on technical ownership of the Finance and HR technology platforms, responsible for hands on technical change and administration of the Workday and supporting systems. They will own the request pipeline for the HR & Finance business teams, developing small, medium and large enhancements, managing day-to-day support, report writing, interface development, management of the bi-annual feature releases, prioritisation and delivery of works driven by user need or vendor led enhancements.
In particular, as a Workday expert technician, the successful candidate will be the mentor for other members of the team, assisting them in developing their Workday skills.
This role will provide the candidate the opportunity to broaden their existing experience, as they will be exposed to all areas of the Workday platform across both HR and Finance, Workday and Adaptive. They will also learn about the supporting systems of Kyriba and Yooz.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Configure Workday and other Corporate platform systems to meet requirements; requests are grouped into large (> 5 days), Medium (between 5 days and 4 hours) and day-to-day support (< 4 hrs) and this role will be involved in all areas of request delivery.
- Participate in daily stand-ups and weekly progress meetings to ensure day-to-day support and enhancement delivery are controlled; visible progress, clear dependencies, raised obstacles.
- Participate in and influence the GAM prioritisation process.
- Mentor Corporate IT team members with the development of their Workday skills
- Application of disciplined change management adhering to GAM standards and best practise.
- Help plan and support the bi-annual Workday feature releases and supporting system releases.
- Provide robust, considered advice and guidance to Corporate IT Team colleagues and the business
- Support internal and external audit reviews, ensuring quality responses are provided in a timely fashion.
- Develop training materials and deliver training; cross skills-training to other team members, training end-users with new functionality
- Continuous review of Workday & supporting systems' roadmaps, identifying opportunities for GAM to leverage new functionality and increase the value of the platform. Identifying and planning for end-of-life events
- Systems Administration and user permissioning. Proactively manage user capabilities to ensure good control environment.
- Report writing - configure & maintain the outputs for the standard Finance or HR catalogue of reports.
- Continuous development of requisite technology skills (eg investing in training to ensure skills align to Workday developments)
- Work closely with the IT team on upstream/downstream system changes and infrastructure developments, ensuring Corporate Systems impacts are understood and mitigated.
Qualifications & Experience- Mandatory: Minimum 2 years' experience of Workday FINS; specifically configuring BPs, Security model changes, Reporting, EIBs.
- Mandatory: Minimum 1 year experience of Workday Adaptive Planning.
- Mandatory: Completed at least 2 Workday training courses and direct experience in the following LDPs:
- Financial Management
- Adaptive Planning
- Experience of a Global Finance Department and its processes; including:
- Financial Accounting
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- Group Finance
- Statutory & Regulatory reporting / Tax
- FP&A
- Mandatory: Experience of Business & Functional Analysis and Change Management
- Beneficial: Experience of supporting other corporate applications; specifically being business point of contact, gathering requirements, overseeing change delivery, engaging with vendors
- Beneficial: Experience of working in an IT / technology delivery team / department using a structured delivery methodology.
- Desirable: Experience of Workday HCM configuration and the HR department / Business function
- Desirable: Financial Services experience is an advantage.
