As a Senior WordPress Developer, you are responsible for leading development across a range of WordPress-based websites and digital applications, ensuring our technical solutions and engineering output are of the highest quality, secure, scalable, and deliver a rewarding end-user experience.

In this role, you will balance technical planning and full-stack development with oversight and support of other developers.

You are an experienced Wordpress developer who understands PHP, ACF, MySQL, javascript, CSS and SaSS, TailwindCSS and motion libraries. You will have a good eye for detail and also have good knowledge of managing themes and deployment using CI/CD processes. You will also have knowledge of APIs and how this can be integrated into the Wordpress system.

You are a brilliant communicator, inspiring confidence in our clients and our team, with a passion for building great digital products and mentoring junior developers.

Requirements

Deliver the high quality technical solutions.

Lead the development of custom WordPress themes and plugins.
Ensure high performance, accessibility (WCAG 2.1, Section 508), and SEO best practices.
Implement and manage RESTful APIs.
Develop scalable architectures using modern frameworks.
Maintain and optimise database structures (MySQL, PostgreSQL) for efficient content management.
Implement CDN integration, caching strategies, and performance optimisation.
Ensure cross-browser compatibility and responsive design best practices.

Lead and support a development team's output

Work with Project Managers to ensure appropriate project planning and time estimates.
Provide technical oversight and mentorship to developers.
Establish and manage CI/CD workflows, QA processes, and performance metrics.
Conduct regular code reviews to maintain quality standards.
