Job summary

Invecta in London is seeking an experienced Senior Wordings Underwriter to provide specialist technical support on policy wordings, clauses and contractual documentation across underwriting and claims teams.

You will ensure documentation complies with Lloyd's requirements, market best practice and regulatory expectations, while collaborating with underwriters, brokers and external stakeholders to deliver clear, commercially sound wording solutions.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in insurance wordings and contracts.
• Strong knowledge of London Market and reinsurance practices.
• Experience with multi-jurisdictional business, including US surplus lines and non-admitted risks.
• Confidence engaging with Lloyd's, regulators and external stakeholders.
• A solid understanding of underwriting and claims.
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and agree policy wordings, clauses and contractual documentation.
• Ensure documentation aligns with legal, regulatory, reinsurance and internal governance requirements.
• Partner with underwriters, brokers and third parties on new and amended wordings.
• Provide expert advice, guidance and constructive challenge on complex wording matters.
• Identify contractual and market issues and develop practical, commercially focused solutions.
• Support underwriting and claims teams on technical wording issues and claims outcomes.
• Contribute to product development, market research and emerging market practice.
• Ensure compliance with Lloyd's requirements and market best practice.
• Support regulatory reviews and promote fair customer outcomes.
• Contribute to training and the development of wording capability across the business.
