Job summary

Markel International in London seeks a Contract Wordings Technician to work with Underwriters and the Wordings Team. You will draft, review and advise on wordings, supporting delivery of business plans with close collaboration to underwriters and support functions.

You’ll stay ahead of regulatory and market developments, maintain governance of wordings and ensure alignment with legal requirements, while mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to strategic projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide reviews and advice on wordings and products, including Markel products, Binding Authorities, and broker wordings.
• Monitor regulatory, legal and market developments and advise underwriters on impacts.
• Develop and deliver advice on wording issues and trends affecting products.
• Maintain central wording repository and related records/reports.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Product Governance, Legal & Regulatory, IT and Operations.
• Lead crafting of custom wordings and clauses for complex risks.
• Mentor junior team members and support regulatory-driven changes.
• Participate in strategic projects and timely delivery of actions.
