AtkinsRéalis is seeking a senior professional to lead WOME safety engineering and assurance across defence projects. You will develop safety cases, provide technical direction, and work with clients, operators and suppliers to ensure risks are reduced to tolerable levels throughout the lifecycle.

The role requires extensive experience in defence safety disciplines, strong stakeholder management and the ability to influence decision-making in high-hazard environments.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience delivering WOME safety engineering, explosives safety or ordnance assurance in a defence environment.
• Experience leading safety cases, hazard-management activities or complex safety work packages.
• Sound knowledge of systems engineering and how safety evidence supports decisions across the capability lifecycle.

Responsabilités

• Lead WOME safety engineering and assurance across conventional, novel and complex defence projects.
• Develop, maintain and assure WOME safety cases, safety assessments and hazard logs.
• Provide technical direction on hazard identification, risk assessment and safety requirements.
• Shape evidence strategies for acquisition, integration, trials and through-life support.
• Advise clients, operators and partners on proportionate WOME safety solutions.
