Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking an experienced Architect to define a portfolio of 32-bit microcontroller-based wireless solutions (Bluetooth, UWB, Wi-Fi).

You will lead architecture, drive SoC development from concept to tape-out, and collaborate with cross-functional teams across marketing, design, applications, and customers. The role requires strong cross-functional leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of industry experience in wireless technology design or architecture.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven expertise in microarchitecture and wireless product implementation.
• Strong knowledge of BLE, UWB, and Wi‑Fi principles and standards.

Responsibilities

• Define the architecture of 32-bit Bluetooth, UWB, and Wi‑Fi SoC solutions, including core selection, memory subsystems, power management, security, and test features.
• Own peripheral architecture, including programming models, interfaces, feature sets, and detailed operational behaviour.
• Conduct feasibility studies and architectural trade-offs to meet target market cost and feature requirements.
• Drive product innovation through differentiated solutions that strengthen market competitiveness.
• Present vision, features, specifications, and cost considerations to leadership and customers for alignment.
• Define architectures that support functional safety (ISO 26262) and cybersecurity (ISO 21434, including TARA).
• Contribute to SoC development from concept through tape-out with cross-functional teams across marketing, design, applications, verification, emulation, and product/test.
• Collaborate with firmware teams to ensure strong software support and align requirements with IP vendors.
• Apply AI-driven and automation techniques to improve design quality and efficiency, enabling faster cycle times and first-silicon success.
• Foster teamwork and inclusive culture across geographies.
