Senior Welder Fabricator – Laser Cutting & Panel Building

Location: Norwich, Norfolk
Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 DOE

We are seeking a skilled Senior Welder Fabricator to join a busy fabrication team. This hands-on role involves leading laser cutting operations, MIG/TIG welding, and assembling custom metal panels and enclosures.

The successful Senior Welder Fabricator will work from detailed engineering drawings and play a key role in mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and oversee laser cutting machines for sheet metal
• Perform high-quality MIG/TIG welding on mild steel and stainless steel
• Fabricate, fold, and assemble custom enclosures and panels
• Read and interpret complex engineering drawings accurately
• Maintain quality, safety, and productivity standards
• Mentor and support junior welders and fabricators

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Senior Welder Fabricator or similar role in engineering or manufacturing
• Strong MIG/TIG welding skills and experience with laser cutting equipment
• Ability to work precisely from engineering drawings
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Desirable:

• Experience in electrical panel fabrication
• Forklift or lifting equipment experience
• Basic CAD/CAM knowledge
