Job description

Who we are... In a nutshell

Ramarketing is a global life sciences marketing agency with a strong digital core. Our diverse team of strategists, designers, writers, developers, and marketers collaborates across offices in the UK, US, and Canada to deliver meaningful business growth for our clients.

In the Development team, we craft tailored digital experiences that reflect our clients’ brand identities and business goals. As a Senior Web Developer, you’ll play a key role in delivering secure, high-performing, and user-focused websites that drive engagement and deliver measurable value.

Your Role...

As our Senior Web Developer, you’ll lead the way in delivering top-notch websites for our life sciences clients. Working closely with our Head of Design and Delivery, you’ll help shape project direction and keep things running smoothly from start to finish.

You’ll be hands-on with the code—building custom WordPress sites (including multisite setups) that are fast, secure, and tailored to our clients’ needs. You’ll collaborate with designers, strategists, and project managers to bring ideas to life and make sure everything looks and works just right.

You’ll also help improve how we do things—sharing knowledge, refining our workflows, and making sure we’re always building with performance, security, and user experience in mind.

What does a Senior Developer do?
Technical Delivery
  • Plan and build custom WordPress websites, including multisite setups and Gutenberg editing experiences.
  • Write clean, scalable code that follows best practices and ensures strong performance and security.
  • Carry out security audits and keep all builds aligned with up-to-date standards.
Frontend & UX
  • Develop responsive, accessible interfaces using Tailwind CSS.
  • Apply UX best practices to create smooth, user-friendly experiences.
  • Optimise site performance and loading speed across browsers and devices.
Integrations & APIs
  • Integrate CRMs like HubSpot or Salesforce, along with other third-party tools.
  • Build and manage custom post types, taxonomies, and plugin features.
  • Use RESTful APIs to handle data securely between systems.
Ways of Working
  • Help shape how we do things—whether that’s improving workflows, testing new tools, or refining delivery processes.
  • Take part in resourcing, scoping and planning activities for your team; offering technical expertise throughout project lifecycles.
  • Share knowledge and support a culture of continuous learning.
Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with designers, content creators, and project managers to bring projects to life.
  • Communicate technical decisions clearly with both tech and non-tech stakeholders.
  • Create training, education and guidance materials to ensure high-quality standards throughout the agency.
What’s Important to Us...

We’re looking for someone who enjoys balancing hands-on development with working alongside others to solve challenges and shape great solutions.. You’ll be proactive, supportive, and passionate about continuous improvement, and committed to helping others grow as much as you do.

This role is ideal for someone who loves taking ownership, enjoys variety, and wants to contribute to a collaborative, forward-thinking creative development team.

Key Requirements:

Experience

  • Proven track record in building custom WordPress sites, including Gutenberg and multisite setups.
  • Experience scoping and delivering web projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • CRM and third-party API integration experience (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce).
  • Skilled in tailoring WordPress through custom themes, ACF, and plugin development.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of PHP, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, and CSS.
  • Proficient with Tailwind CSS, Git (Bitbucket/GitHub), and NPM workflows.
  • Comfortable with MySQL, RESTful APIs, and data formats like JSON.
  • Strong focus on web security, including audit and best-practice implementation.

User Experience & Performance

  • Solid grasp of UX principles, accessibility standards, and frontend optimisation.
  • Confident in cross-browser testing and troubleshooting.

Working Style

  • Clear communicator across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Self-driven and collaborative, with a proactive approach to learning and improvement.

Why Join Us?

As part of ramarketing, you’ll be immersed in an open and collaborative culture where curiosity is celebrated, and your expertise will help shape our digital future.

  • Lead meaningful work for international life sciences clients.
  • Flexible remote/hybrid working.
  • A proactive, supportive environment with opportunities for leadership and growth.
  • Access to training, innovation projects, and new tools.
