Job summary

Critical Playground LLC in London is seeking a Wayfinding Designer to join a global creative studio that blends art, design and culture to transform places. You’ll guide projects from discovery through to implementation across wayfinding, environmental graphics and spatial experiences.

You’ll shape sign families, information hierarchies and mapping, contributing to brand storytelling within built environments and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

Wayfinding Designer

Fancy creating spaces that people don’t just navigate, but genuinely experience? We’re looking for a Wayfinding Designer to join a global creative studio where art, design and culture come together to transform places and create meaningful experiences.

The Opportunity

As a Wayfinding Designer, you’ll take projects from discovery and strategy through to concept, detailed design and implementation. You’ll work across wayfinding design, environmental graphic design and spatial experiences, collaborating with creatives, architects, clients, consultants and fabrication partners.

You’ll shape everything from sign families, information hierarchies and mapping to environmental graphics, directories and navigation systems.

Your work will make complex spaces clearer, more intuitive and more engaging, while bringing brand, culture and storytelling into the built environment.

Your growth

You’ll have real ownership across the creative process, with the freedom to explore your ideas while working closely with a multidisciplinary team and gaining exposure to projects from strategy through to delivery.

About You

You’ll bring a strong portfolio across wayfinding design, environmental graphic design or information design, with experience taking projects from concept through to implementation.

You’ll have strong skills in typography, layout, visual communication and information hierarchy, alongside an understanding of spatial thinking, accessibility, materials and the built environment.

You’ll be confident with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop, and comfortable reading architectural plans and presenting ideas to clients and stakeholders.

Experience with CAD, SketchUp, digital wayfinding or working with architects and fabricators would be a bonus.
