Thames Water is recruiting a Senior Shift Controller for Thames Gateway Essex, the UK’s only Desalination site, employing SCADA to manage operations and respond to events. The role involves leading day‑to‑day operation of the Water Treatment Works, supervising Process Technicians and ensuring service delivery to standards.

You will monitor and analyse process data, coordinate with teams, and support on-site capital projects while upholding safety procedures and regulatory compliance.

Formación

• Process experience within water production process.
• Qualification in a technical discipline would be advantageous.
• Experience on major infrastructure projects.
• Ability to work unsupervised and be prepared to work both day shift and/or 12-hour continental shift.
• Prepared to be trained in safety procedures including Confined Space Entry.
• Experience in reviewing and approving RAMS.
• Experience issuing permits to contractors.
• Experience undertaking isolations.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee the overall operation of the Water Treatment Works, plant and equipment.
• Ensure priority of delivering wholesome water.
• Monitor, collate and report data to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Interpret trends on SCADA and optimise plant performance.
• Review RAMS and issue/approve permits to contractors.
• Coordinate with contractors to ensure Safe Systems Of Work.
• Conduct isolations and safety checks during maintenance.
