Job summary

Stantec in Leeds is seeking a Senior Environmental Water Quality Consultant (Modelling) to join our multidisciplinary water team. You will develop quantitative water quality models and advise on estuarine, coastal and freshwater systems.

The role emphasizes collaboration with clients, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to a growing portfolio of water quality projects across the UK. A degree in science/engineering and Chartered status are preferred.

Qualifications

• Science/Math/Engineering degree; Chartered status or working toward it.
• Experience with water quality modelling packages (MIKE, Delft3D, Telemac or AEM3D) in estuarine, marine or coastal systems.
• Solid grounding in physico-chemical water quality and regulatory standards for fresh and marine waters.
• Basic coding in Python or R.

Responsibilities

• Deliver quantitative water quality models to support projects.
• Author and review evidence-led technical reports.
• Maintain client relationships and contribute to flexible water quality services.
• Mentor junior colleagues and collaborate across disciplines.
