Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Water Quality Modeller to support a UK and Ireland portfolio across water, energy and infrastructure sectors. You will identify pollution sources and pathways, develop estuarine, marine and coastal models, and deliver reports that inform environmental decisions.

You will collaborate with scientists and engineers, mentor juniors, and contribute to the growth of our water quality services while building strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• You hold a degree in Science, Mathematics or Engineering, with postgraduate qualifications or relevant industry experience.
• You are working towards or have already achieved Chartered status with a relevant professional institution.
• You have working experience with at least one water quality modelling package (MIKE, Delft3D, Telemac or AEM3D).
• You have a solid grounding in physico‑chemical water quality and regulatory standards for fresh and marine waters, and basic coding in Python or R.

Responsibilities

• Deliver technically sound quantitative models to support project delivery.
• Author and review evidence‑led technical reports for water quality projects.
• Build and maintain client relationships and mentor junior colleagues.
• Support continuous development of water quality services and cross‑disciplinary collaboration.
