Are you looking for meaningful work, challenge, and the opportunity to shape resilient, sustainable water infrastructure for future generations? Join our team of experienced modellers at Wellington Water. We are currently looking for two experienced professionals:

  • Senior Modeller Water Supply: Focused on hands-on network modelling, overseeing consultants, and providing practical advice to support operations and planning.
  • Principal Modeller Three Waters: A strategic technical leader shaping direction across water supply, wastewater, and stormwater systems.

About the Role

Senior Modeller Water Supply: You will work closely with the Drinking Water Modelling Lead, managing model builds, calibrations, interpreting results, and providing insights for network operations and planning. Managing and reviewing consultants' work is part of the role, requiring strong communication skills.

Principal Modeller Three Waters: This role influences investment and strategy across water supply, stormwater, and wastewater, guiding modelling use to inform infrastructure decisions and working with senior stakeholders. Expertise across multiple modelling disciplines is preferred.

What You’ll Bring

  • A tertiary qualification in Civil / Environmental Engineering or related field
  • Hands-on modelling experience in consultancy or technical roles
  • Model building, calibration, and peer review skills
  • Familiarity with InfoWorks WS Pro, ICM, or similar software
  • Ability to translate technical outputs for non-technical audiences
  • Collaborative and adaptable approach

The roles are full-time (40 hours/week). Salary ranges are approximately NZD 106,892 to 150,906 for the Senior Modeller, and NZD 115,635 to 163,250 for the Principal Modeller, depending on experience.
