Job summary

Advance TRS, a leading UK consultancy, seeks Senior/Principal Wastewater Modellers to lead hydraulic modelling across a diverse project portfolio. You will develop, validate and review models, support design teams and mentor junior colleagues in a collaborative environment.

You will engage with water company clients, manage deliverables and contribute to bids, driving robust solutions for flooding, CSO reduction and network resilience.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Management or related.
• Typically 6-12+ years’ experience in wastewater hydraulic modelling.
• Advanced knowledge of hydraulic modelling in wastewater contexts.
• Proficiency in model build, verification, and QA.
• Understanding regulatory requirements for wastewater networks.
• Experience coordinating projects and stakeholders.
• Strong technical report-writing, presentations and communication skills.
• GIS and spreadsheet data analysis skills.
• HADES experience is advantageous; coding/scripting desirable.
• Chartered membership desirable, especially for Principal level.

Responsibilities

• Develop, build, verify and review wastewater models including sewer networks.
• Specify survey requirements and ensure inputs/outputs meet objectives.
• Develop strategic and detailed solutions to address flooding and CSO spills.
• Provide hydraulic modelling support to designers through design stages.
• Manage project delivery including timelines, QA, resources and subcontractors.
• Mentor junior colleagues and share technical knowledge.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, and supporting studies.
• Engage with water company clients and stakeholders to communicate findings.
• Contribute to bids with methodologies, cost estimates and programmes.
