In addition to a range of long-term programmes across the UK water industry, RPS and Tetra Tech have successfully won a £100 million single-award framework from United Utilities to support the improvement of river health across the Northwest of England.

RPS has been working with United Utilities for over 20 years on innovative projects. As we move towards AMP8, this is an exciting time to be working in the water industry, collaborating with passionate organisations to create positive change.

Under this 10-year framework, RPS will drive program optimisation, develop solutions, and select the best options based on value, carbon footprint, and cost. Our mission is to deliver exceptional water services to foster a resilient, eco-friendly, and thriving Northwest.

About The Team:

RPS Water Consulting is a team of Engineers, Modellers, and Data Analysts providing Asset Management and Operational Strategy development to our Water Industry clients. This industry offers challenges and opportunities requiring innovation, dedication, and teamwork.

In addition to the United Utilities framework, we work with several major water companies across the UK, with a broad portfolio of long-term framework agreements.

Our Water Consultancy business has a range of prestigious AMP8 programmes leading into AMP9 and beyond, offering long-term career stability and growth.

About You:

Candidates should have experience with urban drainage projects and proficiency in InfoWorks ICM and GIS software.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong teamwork skills, leadership potential, and the ability to mentor other modelling personnel, focusing on urban drainage and client service excellence.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver wastewater catchment strategies, including hydraulic modelling, analysis, and optioneering within project constraints.
  • Assess solution feasibility and engineering buildability factors.
  • Improve tools, procedures, and processes for efficiency and innovation.
  • Ensure quality outputs and compliance with standards and governance.
  • Travel to client sites or offices as required.
  • Lead project teams, build relationships with clients, and manage workload and performance.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Knowledge of water industry legislation and regulation.
  • Experience managing projects of varying sizes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Expertise in InfoWorks ICM and ICM Exchange.
  • Deep knowledge of hydraulic modelling and wastewater infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in MS 365, advanced Excel, PowerBI, and SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of GIS systems (MapInfo, ArcGIS, QGIS).
  • Experience with FME, Optimatics, Python, or similar tools is advantageous.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in a relevant technical field; postgraduate qualifications are a plus.
  • Chartered status or working towards it.
  • Membership or application in professional institutions like IET, InstMC, or CIWEM.
