Job summary

Thames Water is seeking a Principal Process Specialist to lead regional environmental compliance for wastewater treatment works across the South London area. You will drive regulatory compliance, provide subject matter expertise, and mentor a team of process specialists to improve performance and safety across multiple sites.

You will shape horizon scanning for future risks, develop wastewater learning materials, and coordinate input from across departments to deliver complex outputs.

Qualifications

• Significant experience with wastewater processes, regulation and pollution investigations.
• Proven track record leading fault finding, process improvements, and delivering change.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex information to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Act as subject matter expert in wastewater treatment and regulation across sites and processes.
• Perform data analytics of KPIs and strategise results.
• Represent Operations in project design, delivery and commissioning of capital schemes.
• Lead efforts to reduce cost-of-treatment while balancing cost vs benefit.
• Lead and coordinate responses to storm discharge and flow-related compliance issues.
