Job summary

ProTech Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Warehouse Operative to join a busy manufacturing environment in Royston. You will manage stock, pick/kit materials and ensure timely delivery to production lines, while maintaining accurate records and a safe working area.

The role requires 5+ years' warehouse experience, strong organisational skills, and familiarity with ERP systems. Forklift licence is desirable and overhead gantry crane experience is a plus. Competitive hourly rate.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in warehouse or stores in manufacturing.
• Experience with ERP/WMS and material traceability.
• Forklift licence desirable; overhead gantry crane experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage accurate picking and kitting of materials in line with production schedules.
• Ensure materials are delivered to production lines on time and in full.
• Maintain stock control, records and warehouse locations.
• Carry out regular stock checks, cycle counts and inventory reconciliations.
• Identify shortages and work with relevant departments to resolve issues.
• Oversee the receiving, storage and dispatch of goods.
• Maintain an organised and efficient warehouse layout.
• Support inbound and outbound logistics activities.
• Follow Lean warehouse practices, including Kanban, Just-in-Time (JIT) and 5S.
• Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes and material flow.
• Work closely with production, planning, procurement and supply chain teams.
• Maintain accurate material tracking and stock traceability.
• Ensure all warehouse activities comply with health and safety regulations.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
