Job summary

Berry Recruitment are NOW hiring a committed and experienced Senior Warehouse Operative to work in Wantage, Oxfordshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a warehouse professional ready to take on leadership responsibilities and grow within a supportive, ambitious business.

The role offers a £30,000 per annum salary and standard Monday to Friday hours. You will contribute to stock control, order fulfilment and inventory management while assisting the Warehouse Manager and guiding the team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working within a warehouse environment.
• Experience supporting, mentoring or supervising colleagues within a warehouse setting.
• Confident communicating with people at all levels of the business.
• Strong organisational skills with a focus on accuracy and quality.
• Able to work both independently and collaboratively to meet operational targets.
• Flexible approach to working hours when business needs require it.
• Eagerness to learn and develop a detailed understanding of warehouse procedures and best practices.
• Must hold a full clean driving licence and have your own vehicle.
• Reach Truck experience or willingness to undertake training.

Responsibilities

• Stock Control: Checking, booking in and replenishing stock accurately.
• Order Fulfilment: Picking, packing and dispatching orders efficiently and accurately.
• Inventory Management: Supporting stock takes and helping maintain excellent stock accuracy.
• Team Support: Assisting Warehouse Assistants, ensuring tasks are completed correctly and to agreed timescales.
• Compliance: Supporting ISO accreditation activities, Health & Safety requirements and risk assessments.
• Administration: Ensuring all warehouse paperwork is completed, filed and archived correctly.
• Collaboration: Responding to warehouse requests and queries from departments across the business.
• Courier Coordination: Liaising with couriers to ensure items are collected, shipped and tracked promptly.
• Leadership: Providing day-to-day support to the Warehouse Manager and deputising when required.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Warehouse Operative
