The Role

The Senior Warehouse General Manager will lead all activities at a key UK distribution centre in Ashby-De-La-Zouch, operating within a multi-user, open & closed book, 750,000+ sq. ft. site. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced logistics professional to be at the forefront of a rapidly expanding organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Reporting to the UK Operations Director.
• Providing strategic leadership for warehousing, distribution, strategy, continuous improvement, and projects.
• Leading and developing a high-performing team of up to 600+ employees through managerial direct reports.
• Building and maintaining strong customer relationships to ensure ongoing satisfaction.
• Managing a site budget exceeding £40m, achieving financial targets while maintaining service quality.
• Evolving organisational KPIs and standardising site operations.
• Ensuring compliance with regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
• Continuously improving operational processes for efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Driving innovation, automation, robotics, and adopting new technologies.
• Managing relationships with customers, suppliers, and third-party service providers.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Logistics, Distribution & Supply Chain experience - Essential.
• At least 5+ years in roles such as General Manager, Senior General Manager, Regional General Manager, Head of Operations, or Operations Director - Essential.
• Proven experience in 3PL multi-user environments - Essential.
• Budgetary responsibility for medium to large DC operations exceeding £40m - Essential.
• Knowledge of semi-automation and robotics, including AMRs and AGVs - Advantageous.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
• Knowledge of the UK logistics and warehousing market.
• Motivation by large-scale growth challenges.
• Ability to commute to Ashby-De-La-Zouch 5 days a week - Essential.
