Job summary

BNY is seeking a Counsel, Senior Vice President for the Asset Servicing Legal team in London or Manchester. The role requires advising on global custody, fund services, custody, and related services, with emphasis on drafting and negotiating complex agreements and supporting new technology strategies.

Applicants should bring UK-qualified solicitor or barrister status and 3–8 years PQE, with experience in financial services and the ability to collaborate across legal, risk and business teams.

Qualifications

• UK-Qualified solicitor/barrister with 3–8 years' PQE is preferred.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and advisory skills for senior stakeholders.
• Ability to translate complex regulatory issues into clear guidance.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, practical legal advice to Asset Servicing on a broad range of matters including digital assets and outsourcing.
• Draft, review and negotiate client agreements, intra-group arrangements and other legal documents.
• Collaborate with compliance, risk and business units to support new products and regulatory changes.
• Manage outside counsel and ensure quality and alignment with expectations.
• Identify legal risks early and drive consistent governance and documentation standards.
