Job summary

HCLTech is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to design, implement and maintain automation for VMware Cloud Foundation and vSphere platforms. You will automate lifecycle management, patching, upgrades, and compliance across virtual environments, collaborating with global engineering, security and operations teams to improve reliability and security.

The role emphasizes Infrastructure-as-Code, automation frameworks, and hands-on scripting with PowerCLI, Terraform, and Python.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience designing and implementing automation for VMware platforms.
• Hands-on with VCF and VMware stack including vRO/vROps.
• Experience with BladeLogic or similar automation tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain automation for VMware Cloud Foundation and vSphere lifecycle management.
• Translate infrastructure requirements into automated, scalable solutions for deployment, patching, and compliance.
• Develop and maintain automation workflows, scripts, and procedures for platform operations.
• Assess integrations with infrastructure management, configuration management, change management, security, and monitoring systems.
• Utilize PowerCLI, Python, Terraform, GitHub, APIs, JavaScript, PowerShell and IaC to automate lifecycle and operations.
• Collaborate with architects, platform engineers, security and operations teams to improve virtualization services.
• Contribute to standards, best practices and reusable automation frameworks.
