THE ROLE

To support the maximisation of sales for each department through managing and leading the Visual Merchandising direction for the store.

Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the Visual Merchandising direction for the store in line with the different brand expectations.
  • Build relationships with host store and key support functions to ensure symmetry across all displays in store.
  • Cost effectively source props and visual aids to create “theatre” in our departments.
  • Ensure brand integrity is maintained at all times with use of graphics and equipment.
  • Work with the management team to decide on layout, implementation of merchandising guidelines.
  • Implement and maintain a Visual Merchandising planning programme to ensure key trends and key times of the year are planned for in advance.
  • Conduct weekly floor walks to maintain standards and brand identity, consistency of fixture placement and brand signage.
  • Ensure housekeeping standards are regularly maintained on displays and fixtures.
  • Liaise with head office visual teams on VM layout, implementation of merchandising guidelines and feedback new ideas.
  • Maintain strong verbal and written communication skills.

PEOPLE

  • Be fully accountable for the recruitment, training and management of an excellent team.
  • Develop and Lead a high performing team of Visual Merchandisers through training, seasonal reviews and Performance management.
  • Lead by example and ensure your team maintain standards and brand identity, consistency of fixture placement and brand signage.
  • Demonstrate and maintain a high level of interpersonal skills in order to get the very best out of your team.
  • Ensure your team adhere to the Company business dress code policy, leading by example.
  • Support and develop your team to ensure succession internally.

KEY SKILLS

  • Understanding of seasonal key trends and brand cultures to ensure brands are displayed with the correct adjacencies.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire others
  • Strong negotiation skills (when justifying aesthetic and commerciality)
  • Ability to manage upwards and network amongst seniors.
  • Genuine love of fashion
  • Creative background and coaching experience.
  • Previous experience managing a budget
  • Good organisation and planning skills
  • Currently working as a VM Manager or background in a senior office-based VM role
  • Experience obtained from a fast-paced fashion or footwear Retailer
