Job summary

Gram Games in London, UK is seeking a Senior VFX Artist & Animation Generalist to own the VFX and motion language from ideation to in‑game implementation. You will design, build, and polish effects, working with art, design, tech art, engineering, and production to create tactile feedback in a mobile puzzle experience.

You will lead the pipeline for dynamic VFX, collaborate across teams, and optimize for performance on mobile while maintaining high visual fidelity in top-tier casual games.

Qualifications

• Significant experience at Senior/Lead/Principal level in real-time VFX and animations for games, esp. casual puzzle or F2P titles.
• Proven ability to own or significantly contribute to a mobile VFX/animation pipeline.
• Strong grasp of animation principles applied to gameplay, UI, and effects.
• Hands-on Unity experience for VFX and animations.
• A portfolio showing high-quality in-game VFX and motion design from idea to final implementation.
• Ability to translate concepts into polished in-engine effects and motion.
• Understanding of mobile performance constraints and optimization techniques.
• Troubleshoot visual bugs, sorting issues, and performance bottlenecks.
• Strong collaboration across art, design, tech art, engineering and production.

Responsibilities

• Own, build, and optimize the VFX and animation pipeline for mobile, tailored to dynamic interactions.
• Create high-quality VFX and animations from ideation to final Unity implementation.
• Design and implement juicy interactions and celebratory effects for tactile feedback.
• Bring creative ideas to life for puzzle pieces, UI, environments, and effects.
• Work hands-on with Unity workflows: Animation Timeline, Particle System, Shader Graph, URP, custom materials.
• Translate concepts and prototypes into polished in-engine effects and motion.
• Optimize VFX/animations for mobile performance and production constraints.
• Identify bottlenecks and propose practical pipeline solutions.
• Collaborate with tech art and engineering on shaders, tools, profiling, runtime performance.
