Job summary

Linnaeus, Cinque Ports Vets, is seeking a Lead Veterinary Surgeon to oversee clinical work across four Kent/East Sussex locations, based mainly at Kingsnorth with regular branch days. The role blends hospital, consulting and surgery to deliver continuity of care.

We value leadership in medicine, training and clinical development, with a strong emphasis on client relationships and high standards of care. Enjoy a varied schedule with no OOH, and Fridays off where possible.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of UK small animal practice experience and leadership potential.
• Strong surgical interest and ability to handle complex cases.
• Ability to mentor and develop vets and nurses.
• Comfort with consulting, medicine and surgery mix.
• Experience working across multiple branches is advantageous.
• Proactive in building client relationships and continuity of care.
• Able to balance hospital work with branch-based duties.

Responsibilities

• Lead clinical team across four practices (Kingsnorth, Rye, Tenterden, Hawkhurst).
• Provide a mix of hospital, consulting and surgical duties.
• Maintain continuity of care and build relationships with clients and patients.
• Support clinical training, mentoring and areas of clinical leadership across the group.
