Job summary

The Vet Office in Bridgend, South Wales, is recruiting an experienced Senior Veterinary Surgeon to join our independent, vet-owned Small Animal Hospital. This role combines high-quality GP work with emergency care and mentoring of less experienced colleagues.

Two OOH options are available: Senior Back-Up Vet (4‑day week, 8‑hour shifts, 1 in 4 on weekends) or First On-Call Senior Vet (5‑day week, nights on-call). The hospital provides modern facilities and ample CPD support.

Qualifications

• Experienced Veterinary Surgeon with GP and emergency caseload experience.
• Able to mentor and develop less experienced colleagues.
• Strong clinical judgement and ability to take on greater responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality GP and emergency care.
• Mentor and support junior vets and nurses.
• Develop caseloads and contribute to hospital development.
