Job summary

The Vet Office is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join an independent, vet-owned hospital in South Wales. This part-time role offers hospital-level responsibilities with a predictable 3-day week, 8am–5pm, and no out-of-hours work.

You will manage inpatient and outpatient care, guide graduate veterinarians, and collaborate with the team to maintain high clinical standards. Salary is £50,000–£60,000 FTE, pro-rated for part-time hours.

Qualifications

• Experienced Veterinary Surgeon with hospital-level care.
• Postgraduate qualifications or Advanced Practitioner status preferred.
• VetGDP Adviser experience would be valuable.

Responsibilities

• Assessing new admissions
• Planning and reviewing treatment
• Managing inpatient and ECC cases
• Outpatient diagnostic imaging
• Maintaining strong clinical standards
• Supporting and coaching graduate vets
• Communicating with owners to ensure continuity of care
