Pertemps Bristol Industrial are recruiting for a Senior Verification & Test Engineer to join our client based in Clevedon, BS21.

Reporting to the Lead Verification & Test Engineer, you will take a lead role in verifying and testing complex semiconductor manufacturing equipment. The role spans from design concept through to customer commissioning and field trials, ensuring products are safe, compliant, and meet their design intent.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge technology projects, influence best practice verification and validation (V&V) approaches, and support the professional development of junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead Verification & Test (V&T) activities across a variety of engineering projects, from initial planning to final sign-off.
2. Develop robust V&T plans for systems, modules, and subassemblies, aligned with engineering standards and project goals.
3. Verify that designs meet specifications through calculations, simulations, and physical testing.
4. Ensure test results and activities are accurately documented and meet internal quality standards.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify requirements, resolve engineering issues, and ensure delivery milestones are met.
6. Influence project direction through technical expertise, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
7. Provide mentoring and guidance to other V&T Engineers, helping build a strong, capable team.
8. Contribute to the development of verification and validation best practices across the business.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in verification and test engineering in a related sector.
• Proven ability to understand complex technical requirements and communicate effectively with engineers and project stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality and compliance.

Desirable:

• Working knowledge of INCOSE / ISO15288 Systems Engineering standards.
• Experience in regulated industries (e.g., semiconductor, aerospace, or medical device manufacturing).
• Familiarity with standards such as EN 61511, SEMI S2/S10, HAZOP, LOPA, FMEA, and functional safety.
• Formal accreditations in V&V or Systems Engineering.
• Practical understanding of semiconductor fabrication processes and dependability management.
• Registered Incorporated Engineer (or working towards professional registration).
• Ability to travel nationally and internationally on occasion.
