Job summary

Transport for London (TfL) Engineers are seeking a Band 3 Vehicles Engineer to ensure safe, reliable bus fleets and introduce improvements throughout the asset lifecycle. The role covers testing, standards, and collaboration with the Bus Directorate.

Based in London with hybrid working options, the engineer will guide a team, support maintenance projects, and engage with external bodies to uphold TfL's engineering excellence and safety commitments.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with vehicle testing and standards.
• Ability to mentor and develop staff.

Responsibilities

• Ensure continuous Bus fleet safety and reliability improvements.
• Provide professional engineering support to maintenance initiatives.
• Lead and prioritise team work with delivery and stakeholders.
• Represent TfL interests with external bodies and regulators.
