Job summary

Gerrell & Hard is seeking a Senior Vehicle Security Engineer to lead and deliver technical research into vehicle security and theft prevention. You will investigate emerging vehicle technologies, vulnerabilities and attack vectors, and collaborate with manufacturers, insurers and industry stakeholders to shape best practice.

You will analyse security risks, develop testing protocols, produce technical reports and present findings clearly.

Qualifications

• Significant automotive sector experience and strong engineering knowledge.
• Experience with vehicle security systems or connected vehicles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience delivering technical or research projects.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Ability to present complex technical information clearly.
• Relevant engineering degree; knowledge of UK/EU regulations useful.

The Role

Youll lead and deliver technical research into vehicle security and theft prevention, investigating emerging vehicle technologies, vulnerabilities and attack vectors.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Researching connected vehicles, electronic architectures, software-driven systems and communication networks.
• Developing and enhancing vehicle security assessment and testing protocols.
• Producing technical reports and presenting findings to customers and industry audiences.
• Working with manufacturers, suppliers, insurers and industry bodies to share insight and influence best practice.

About You

Youll have significant automotive sector experience and strong engineering knowledge, ideally with experience ofvehicle security systems, connected vehicles, electrical architectures or automotive software.

Youll also bring:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience delivering technical or research projects.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The confidence to present complex technical information clearly.

A relevant engineering degree, knowledge of UK/EU regulations, insurance experience or familiarity with vehicle development processes would be advantageous butis not essential.
