Purpose of the Role

As part of our Vehicle Modelling team, this role will support...

Principle Accountabilities
  • Lead Vehicle Model correlation across Technical, supporting the Head of Vehicle Modelling
  • Ensure suspension model fidelity options across subsystems (e.g., bearing stiffness, component stiffness, upright flexibility)
  • Deliver world-class model correlation & functionality, supporting the next level driver model in lap simulation
  • Develop grounding model to improve skid wear & stability impact prediction
  • Support lateral and yaw dynamics implementation in collaboration with the Tyre team
  • Improve track model for dynamic lap simulations
  • Develop vehicle & sub-system models
  • Generate clear, well-documented code
  • Identify vehicle model opportunities through data analysis
  • Provide feedback to aid car performance development
Role Dimensions

This role is within the Performance Group, Vehicle Modelling team, supporting junior staff, reporting to the Head of Vehicle Modelling.

Job Requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Masters or PhD in Engineering, Physics, or Applied Mathematics (or similar)
  • Strong vehicle physics knowledge
  • Data-driven analysis approach
  • Experience with vehicle sub-system modelling in motorsport
  • Skills in data analysis, applied mathematics, dynamical systems
  • Proficiency in Matlab, Vehicle Dynamics simulation tools, ATLAS 10 or similar
  • Preferred: C/C++, Python
