Senior Vehicle Maintenance Technician, Slough

FedEx is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated individual to join our Vehicle Maintenance Unit at Slough as a Senior Vehicle Maintenance Technician. This role involves overseeing the smooth operation of vehicle maintenance, ensuring vehicles meet Department of Transport (DOT) standards and our preventative maintenance schedules.

Key Details:

• Shift: Monday to Friday, 6.45am to 3.15pm
• Salary: £19.82 per hour + Geographical Enhancement

Responsibilities:

• Manage the performance of Vehicle Maintenance Technicians
• Assist in daily operations of the VMU in the absence of the Workshop Manager
• Diagnose faults and repair vehicles to DOT standards
• Complete documentation and reporting
• Road test vehicles and accompany vehicles for DOT tests as qualified
• Ensure safe use of tools and equipment
• Adhere to health & safety policies and legislation
• Maintain high levels of customer care and communication with traffic departments
• Ensure vehicles leave the VMU in a roadworthy condition

Qualifications and Skills:

• Qualification in vehicle maintenance
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work in a busy environment with attention to detail
• Full driving license is essential; Category C+E is preferred but not required
