Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a VAT Assistant Manager to join the tax team of a Crawley-based client. You will provide VAT advice and support compliance across a diverse client portfolio in the business services sector.

You will prepare and review VAT returns, assist with registrations, handle HMRC queries, and help identify planning opportunities. This role offers a permanent contract with hybrid working in Crawley.

Qualifications

• ACCA/ACA/ATT/CTA or equivalent professional qualifications.
• Strong knowledge of VAT legislation and compliance.
• Experience in VAT advisory within professional services.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Strong client and colleague communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide VAT advice to a diverse portfolio of clients within the business services sector.
• Prepare and review VAT returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation.
• Assist clients with VAT registrations and de-registrations as required.
• Handle VAT queries from clients and liaise with HMRC on their behalf.
• Support the VAT Manager with complex advisory projects and research.
• Identify and implement VAT planning opportunities for clients.
• Deliver training sessions to clients and colleagues on VAT-related matters.
• Keep up-to-date with changes in VAT legislation and ensure compliance across all workstreams.
