Job summary

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board in North Wales seeks a full-time, substantive Consultant Vascular Surgeon to join a team of eight and support both replacement and expansion in vascular services across North Wales.

The post involves a weekly VCOW rota and on-call duties, with shortlisting followed by AAC interview on 11 December 2026. Salary ranges £114,099–£166,585 per year and a permanent contract are offered.

Qualifications

• Full GMC Specialist Registration in vascular-related field, or within 6 months of CCT.
• FRCS (Vascular) or equivalent qualification.
• Appropriate higher vascular surgical qualification.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with consultants to provide specialist vascular services across designated hospitals.
• Take responsibility for patient care in liaison with colleagues and ensure departmental functioning.
• Supervise junior medical staff and oversee training and career guidance.
• Engage in continuing medical education as directed by Educational Lead and CEO.
• Participate in Clinical Audit and contribute to governance and risk management.
• Join the North Wales Vascular Network on-call rota.
