Job summary

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board in North Wales is seeking a Vascular Surgeon Consultant to provide specialist vascular services across designated hospitals, covering prevention, diagnosis and treatment. You will supervise junior staff and participate in education and audits.

The role includes a one-week-in-eight on-call rota as Consultant of the Week and travel to spoke sites within the network. GMC registration and FRCS (Vascular) or equivalent are required.

Qualifications

• FRCS (Vascular) or equivalent.
• Higher vascular surgical qualification.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist vascular services across designated hospitals.
• Take responsibility for patient care with consultant colleagues.
• Ensure department operates per policy and strategic plan.
• Supervise junior medical staff and training.
• Manage one week in eight on-call rota as Consultant of the Week.
• Participate in the North Wales Vascular Network on-call rota.
• Arrange cover with network consultants during planned leave.
• Engage in mandatory continuing medical education.
• Contribute to clinical audits under governance policy.
