The Viator research team are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior UX researcher to lead high-impact research projects that drive key business metrics and product strategy. In this highly collaborative role, you will utilise qualitative and quantitative research methodologies to scope and deliver research that answers challenging business questions. You will be passionate about understanding our customers and translating their behaviour into actionable insight to inform design and product decisions. As a senior team member you will be a strong advocate for the user and will play a key role in collaborating with stakeholders to shape product roadmaps that align with data, customer insights, and business goals.
The right candidate will have 6+ years of applied qualitative and quantitative research experience in a professional setting; will be passionate about research and travel, comfortable in a fast moving organisation and excited to collaborate with a diverse set of skilled cross-functional partners.

Specific responsibilities include:
Scoping and leading UX research, from large-scale generative research studies that inform product strategy to rapid, tactical studies that de-risk development.
Leveraging your creativity and expertise in qualitative and quantitative research to select the most suitable methodology to answer the teams’ highest priority questions.
Synthesising a variety of data inputs (UXR, analytics and VoC) so as to be able to help product teams define and understand the real problem we’re trying to solve/learn through research.
Balancing efficiency and rigour across multiple projects while keeping research aligned with product timelines.
Crafting and delivering clear, succinct and actionable insight deliverables for stakeholders at all levels. You will communicate, advocate for and socialise insights in a compelling way. Recommendations will be insight-led and aligned to business goals.
Partnering cross-functionally with product, design, analytics, VoC and eng. both when delivering research and on broader pod roadmap items and initiatives.
Collaborating with stakeholders to shape product roadmaps that align with data, customer insights, and business goals.
Contributing to how we develop our research practice, including growing the capabilities of the research team, expanding our toolkit and creating best practice research processes.
Hiring requirements:
Minimum BA/BSc degree in psychology, HCI, design, communication, statistics or other related field.
6+ years of professional applied research experience.
Extensive experience with qualitative research methods (Multi-device generative and evaluative depth interviews, unmoderated testing, usability testing, card sorting, tree-testing, focus groups, diary studies, contextual inquiry, concept testing etc.).
Experience with quantitative research methods (e.g. surveying) and statistical analysis.
Experience leveraging research tools like UserTesting, dscout, etc. and adaptability to learn and utilise new tools as needed.
Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to ask, and answer, meaningful and impactful questions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
A flexible, confident and tenacious attitude with strong influencing skills.
