We are looking for a Senior UX Engineer to bridge design and frontend development, delivering intuitive, accessible, and high-performance digital experiences. You will lead prototyping, champion design systems, facilitate client sessions, and build advanced frontend interfaces with modern web technologies. The role involves mentoring team members, advocating for accessibility, and collaborating with stakeholders to translate complex workflows into seamless interactions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the design and development of scalable design systems and frontend applications using HTML, modern CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript frameworks such as React and Next.js.
• Bridge the gap between design and frontend engineering, translating designs and wireframes into production-ready, performant code.
• Facilitate UX/UI discovery and requirements elicitation workshops with clients and stakeholders to define user journeys, edge cases, and interaction specifications.
• Champion web accessibility (WCAG compliance), responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility across all digital touchpoints.
• Great communication skills through written reports and presentations.
• Present UX concepts and prototypes to clients and stakeholders through demos, documentation, and workshops.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to other developers and designers in UI engineering best practices.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree in a creative or quantitative field such as design, engineering, mathematics, finance. If self-taught, a portfolio past projects is required.
• Experience of successfully contributing to complex frontend projects, including a holistic understanding of the software development process, from design through to deployment, and associated project management and risks.
• Experience of facilitating UX discovery sessions, user journey mapping, and client design presentations.
• Experience of completing code reviews in HTML/CSS/Typescript through Git, and applied other best practices to technical projects.
• Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and the ability to write basic programs using these languages including programming concepts, data structures, algorithms, and UI components or HTML DOM.
• Strong knowledge of browsers and web APIs including software development processes, such as version control using Git and agile methodologies.
• Excellent knowledge of UX/UI best practices and design systems.
• Strong understanding of web accessibility (WCAG), semantic HTML, ARIA attributes, keyboard navigation, and screen reader compatibility.
• Hands-on experience and understanding of Docker storage and volumes.
• Proficiency with Git version control and modern frontend tools.
• Ability to read others' code to help adherence to visual fidelity and UI best practices.
• Effective consultative communication skills with the ability to articulate design and engineering trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery processes.
