Your new role

This flexible, fully remote role is within the Design team of the central Product organization. The successful candidate will understand problems and craft impactful solutions for researchers in large enterprise and corporate R&D organizations. This is an exciting opportunity to influence design practices at Digital Science and create positive impacts for global science.

We are looking for a senior-level, strategic designer experienced in complex, regulated environments, who enjoys collaborating across teams. The role involves tackling organizational efficiency, enterprise workflows, collaborative writing, group-level user and access management, and unique design challenges related to AI.

What you’ll be doing

• Partner and collaborate efficiently with Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams in cross-functional squads, supported by the Design function.
• Own product discovery to generate actionable insights using various quantitative and qualitative methods with quick turnaround.
• Bring clarity to ambiguous design problems through conceptual design, experience mapping, information architecture, and facilitating remote workshops.
• Rapidly prototype, co-create, and iteratively evaluate product experiences that are pragmatic and simple within existing constraints.
• Develop engineering-ready systematic design using modern tools, adhering to enterprise accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG 2.2AA).
• Measure and communicate design outcomes proactively with product analytics.
• Share domain and product knowledge across the design and broader product teams.

What you’ll bring to the role

• Experience delivering strategic UX work within enterprise, life sciences, high-tech R&D, or similar complex domains.
• Ability to manage end-to-end human-centered design processes independently or collaboratively.
• Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research, and facilitating co-design workshops with senior stakeholders.
• Rapid prototyping skills using tools like Figma.
• Strong understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG, Section 508).
• Interest in responsibly leveraging AI within design.
• Excellent visual communication and storytelling skills.
• Ability to balance scope, speed, and quality effectively.
• Collaborative, humble, and consultative approach—team-oriented mindset.
• Experience mentoring designers or working in areas like service design, AI interactions, data visualization, or inclusive design is a plus.
