Job summary

IBM Consulting UK FutureNow is seeking a Senior Experience Consultant specializing in research to lead end‑to‑end user research across public sector digital services. You will shape strategies, oversee qualitative and quantitative studies, and ensure insights drive policy and service design.

Qualifications

• Experience leading planning, design & execution of end-to-end user research.
• Shaping research strategies to drive decisions and align with client needs.
• Mentoring and providing quality assurance to researchers.
• Develop artefacts such as journey maps, research frameworks, and repositories.
• Facilitate workshops with senior stakeholders to prioritise research needs.
• Conduct expert reviews and usability evaluations to improve UX.
• Communicate insights clearly to diverse audiences including senior leaders.
• Champion user-centered design across multidisciplinary teams.
• Stay current on accessibility standards and research methods.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive user research plans aligned with project goals.
• Design and carry out research activities to understand user needs across government services.
• Document insights producing personas, journey maps, summaries, and repositories.
• Champion user research and ensure evidence informs policy and service design.
• Lead workshops with stakeholders to prioritise research needs and embed decisions.
• Guide teams in understanding user behaviour and systemic challenges.
