I'm working with a private architecture firm, looking to bring in a Senior Urban Designer with a passion for placemaking and a proven track record of delivering innovative and sustainable urban design solutions. You will play a key role in leading design projects across a range of sectors — from strategic masterplans and regeneration schemes to detailed design and community-led initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage urban design projects from concept to delivery.
• Mentor junior designers and contribute to team development.
• Engage with clients, local authorities, consultants, and communities.
• Develop and present design proposals, drawings, reports, and presentations.
• Ensure compliance with planning policy, design codes, and best practice standards.
• Contribute to design strategy and innovation within the practice.

About You

• Degree or postgraduate qualification in Urban Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience with a strong focus on urban design.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Excellent design and graphic communication skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Revit, and GIS (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of UK planning policy, design guidance, and best practices.
• Experience working on residential, mixed-use, regeneration, or town centre schemes.
• A collaborative and proactive approach with confidence in client-facing settings.
