Job summary

2K is seeking a Senior Animation Engineer in Brighton to lead development of core animation systems, tools, and pipelines. You will work with animators, artists, and engineers to deliver believable character animation for our games.

You will own high-quality code, contribute to runtimes such as animation graphs and state machines, and help extend our tooling and pipelines to improve efficiency and creativity across teams.

Qualifications

• Proven programming experience in a creative game environment.
• Shipped AAA titles, ideally with Unreal Engine.
• Strong C++, linear algebra and 3D maths knowledge.
• Familiarity with Object-Oriented design (OOP).
• Experience with Unreal Engine, Blueprints and Animation principles.

Responsibilities

• Work in Unreal Engine 5, adapt animation systems and build new tech.
• Prototype and implement animation features and runtime systems (graphs, state machines, blending).
• Build and maintain animation tools and pipelines for animators and technical artists.
• Collaborate with animation, art, design and engineering teams to realise creative ambitions.
• Assist planning by estimating and dependency-checking animation feature development.
• Identify risks and propose solutions to challenges.
• Stay current with industry advances in animation and tech.
