Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Linux/Unix Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing level 3 technical support and engineering expertise in Linux/Unix environments. This role requires a strong foundation in software, hardware, and networking principles, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide level 3 technical support for Linux/Unix systems, resolving complex technical issues efficiently.
- Troubleshoot and maintain software applications commonly used by customers on various operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux).
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and manage IT infrastructure components, including servers, storage systems, and network devices.
- Leverage expertise in Private and Public Cloud infrastructure, VMWARE, and backup and disaster recovery strategies.
- Administer Active Directory and ensure seamless integration with Linux/Unix environments.
- Implement cybersecurity principles and best practices to ensure network security, access control, and vulnerability assessment.
Qualifications:
- Level 3 Technical Support Engineering, time served apprenticeship, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting technical issues related to software, hardware, and networking.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and common software applications.
- Familiarity with networking protocols, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
- CCNA certification.
Knowledge:
- Excellent understanding of Private and Public Cloud infrastructure.
- VMWARE.
- Server and Storage hardware.
- Backup and Disaster Recovery strategies.
- Active Directory.

- Networking Proficiency: Configuring and troubleshooting LANs, WANs, routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Cybersecurity Principles: Network security, access control, encryption, vulnerability assessment, and incident response.
