We are seeking an experienced Senior Underwriter to join our growing team.

About the Role

As a Senior Underwriter, you will work directly with our Managing Director and Head of Finance to ensure underwriting excellence. This fast-paced role offers exposure across the business and opportunities for growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze loan applications, including financial documents, credit histories, and property valuations.
• Assess risks such as borrower creditworthiness, loan-to-value ratios, and property values.
• Make underwriting decisions: approve, deny, or conditionally approve loans.
• Present loan recommendations to credit and investment committees.
• Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and industry standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather information and provide updates.
• Refine and develop underwriting processes as the business grows.
• Guide and develop junior team members.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of relevant Real Estate experience, preferably within bank or non-bank finance, with an interest in Property Development. Residential RE experience is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, numeracy skills, and risk identification ability.
• Knowledge of KYC/AML, credit referencing, Land Registry, RICS valuations, property, and contract law.
• Ability to handle high workflow volume and prioritize tasks.
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder relationship-building ability.
• Project management experience to drive operational efficiency.
