Senior Underwriter - London International Broker Team

Are you a strategic trader with leadership skills and a strong background in Property & Casualty? We are seeking a skilled Senior Underwriter to join a dynamic London International Broker Team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing team, collaborating with international brokers in the heart of the London market.

Based primarily in London, one of our key trading hubs, you'll also benefit from our clients' smart working arrangements, offering a balance of office and remote work.

About the Role

As a Senior Underwriter, you'll play a crucial role in driving new and existing business, building professional relationships, and contributing directly to underwriting profit and growth. You'll also mentor colleagues and provide tailored insurance solutions to meet customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop Broker & Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong connections, providing technical support and expert guidance.
2. Drive Business Growth: Influence key market players through business development and engagement.
3. Deliver Tailored Solutions: Understand client needs and align them with our clients' underwriting strategy.
4. Mentor & Lead: Support and coach colleagues, fostering a high-performance culture.
5. Enhance Underwriting Quality: Implement strategic underwriting initiatives, ensuring best practices and technical excellence.

What We're Looking For

1. Underwriting Expertise: Strong Property & Casualty experience, with a proven ability to win and retain business. (Experience in real estate, specialty lines, fleet, or motor trade is a plus.)
2. Business Development Skills: Ability to drive new business and develop key market relationships.
3. Regulatory Knowledge: Confident in managing an underwriting caseload within a regulated environment.
4. Process Improvement: Experience applying underwriting knowledge to enhance procedures and efficiencies.
5. Strong Communication & Qualifications: Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills. A Diploma in CII (or a willingness to study towards it) is desirable.
