Are you an experienced Consumer Lines Underwriter looking to expand your knowledge in this market and to be part of an expanding team in a multinational corporate organisation? We are searching for an experienced Home Underwriter with more than 5 years’ experience to form a key part of Chubb’s Consumer Lines team. The successful candidate will have responsibility for growth and managing of the Residential Portfolio with our key partners in EMEA.

This role involves underwriting new residential opportunities within EMEA, supporting pricing, product development, and underwriting footprint, as well as managing existing business through portfolio management and account support.

The role requires monitoring market conditions and residential market developments, focusing on competitor products and pricing, while maintaining compliance and governance awareness.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Underwrite new business or renewals within set guidelines.
  • Manage the portfolio by developing underwriting strategies to grow the business and achieve profitability with appropriate pricing and terms.
  • Analyze industry trends, market data, and regulatory changes to anticipate risk profile shifts and inform risk management and product development.
  • Develop products within your expertise to enhance partner retention and attract new business, collaborating across teams and regions.
  • Work with Actuarial, Data Science, and Account Management teams to analyze data, identify patterns, and assess risks.
  • Support the underwriting team through peer reviews, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Represent Chubb and maintain relationships with colleagues and partners.
  • Handle complex underwriting scenarios proactively.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including FCA and Treating Customers Fairly, and keep contracts and agreements current.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Solid underwriting experience in Residential/Home insurance, with good knowledge of the Personal Lines market and competitors, ideally over 5 years.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis.
  • Effective collaboration skills within and across teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to work independently and make decisions.
