Job summary

Benefact Group in Manchester is hiring a Senior Underwriter to join the Church Operations team. The role focuses on complex case work, coaching colleagues, and ensuring high underwriting standards for Ecclesiastical Insurance.

You will manage a portfolio of complex cases, support audits, and strengthen client relationships while developing technical expertise within a collaborative, purpose-driven organisation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, negotiate and profitably underwrite existing caseload within authority and strategy.
• Own a dedicated portfolio of complex cases.
• Coach and train the team and support audits.
• Support self-audit processes and implement improvements.
• Communicate effectively with direct customers across channels.
• Build and maintain relationships with key clients and represent the company at events.
• Expand technical knowledge through training and industry resources.
