Overview

Casualty Underwriter

SiriusPoint is a global underwriter of insurance and reinsurance. Bermuda-headquartered and listed on the New York Stock Exchange (SPNT), we work as 'One SiriusPoint' to apply expertise and underwrite risks across our four operational areas - International Insurance, North American Insurance, Global Accident and Health, and Global Reinsurance. We have underwriting hubs in Bermuda, Liege, London, New York, Stockholm and Zurich, and licenses to write Property & Casualty and Accident & Health insurance and reinsurance globally.

You will be a Casualty Underwriter. You will report to the Head of Casualty, London. The main purpose of your role is negotiating, underwriting, and maintaining a profitable portfolio of business to meet budgetary requirements, as well as researching new business opportunities to develop a quality book of business.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite business in accordance with the business plan as well as personal authority to meet business objectives whilst acting with integrity and following the 'One SiriusPoint' ethos.
• Ensure that SiriusPoint's Casualty underwriting guidelines, aggregations and risk tolerances are adhered to.
• Monitor and manage key MI such as premium, losses and exposures to provide accurate information for key stakeholders both internally and externally.
• Work with other senior staff to provide training for junior team members.
• Working with Brokers and Insureds to reinforce SiriusPoint Casualty underwriting appetite.
• Adhere to all relevant regulatory requirements and ensure up to date with all changes.

Qualifications

• Casualty Treaty (London market) or (US or International) Casualty Binder experience
• Proven underwriting skills in this market, or a clear understanding and pathway from a connected discipline or market
• Effective negotiation skills and ability to influence others
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
• Analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
• Excellent working knowledge of the Lloyd\'s market and/or company market
• Educated to ACII (or equivalent) level ideally
